Hb. Ephedrae Ma Huang 6-18g Induces sweating, releases the Exterior, disseminates and facilitates Lung Qi, calms wheezing, stops coughing, promotes urination and reduces edema.
With Xing Ren, for Wind-Cold cough and wheezing.
With Shi Gao and Xing Ren, for cough from Heat Obstructing the Lungs with wheezing, flaring of the nostrils and fever and Wind-edema.
Gypsum Fibrosum Shi Gao 16-48g Clears Heat in the Qi Stage, drains Fire, relieves irritability, quenches thirst and clears Excess Heat from the Lungs.
With Ma Huang, Xing Ren and Gan Cao, for Lung Heat with cough and asthma.
Rz. Zingiberis Recens Sheng Jiang 3-9g Releases the Exterior, induces perspiration,
d
isperses Cold, warms the Lungs, stops cough and reduces the toxicity of other herbs.
With Zhi Ban Xia, for Productive cough due to Phlegm-Dampness.
With Ma Huang, strongly creates sweating to treat all externally contracted Wind-Cold disorders, especially those in which Wind-Cold has constrained Lung Qi with cough and wheezing and the failure of Lung Qi to descend.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 2-6g Moistens the Lungs, resolves Phlegm, stops cough, moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs and guides the herbs to all twelve channels.
With Ma Huang, Xing Ren and Sheng Jiang, for coughing or wheezing due to Wind-Cold Attacks the Lungs.
With Shi Gao and Xing Ren, for cough due to Lung Heat.
Rz. Pinelliae Preparatum Zhi Ban Xia 4-12g Dries Dampness, transforms Phlegm and descends Rebellious Qi.
Fr. Jujube Rubra Hong Zao 9-21g Tonifies the Spleen and Stomach and augments Qi and moderates. cools and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
With Sheng Jiang, for External Wind-Cold.
